Passkeys are a replacement for passwords that are designed to provide websites and apps a passwordless sign-in experience that is both more convenient and more secure. Passkeys are a standard-based technology that, unlike passwords, are resistant to phishing, are always strong, and are designed so that there are no shared secrets. This makes using a passkey more secure than the traditional username / password authentication and all common two‑factor authentication types. It also means you have one less password to remember. 😉
Check out the Passkey security article from Apple.
To use a Passkey to log in, you must be using a device that supports passkey authentication (Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello). You can use passkeys on multiple devices and your devices can be managed from your profile (https://app.pectora.com/user).
Authenticate Device Upon Log in
If you haven't authenticated a device (or opted out), a prompt is shown after you log in asking if you'd like to authenticate the device to use a passkey to log in.

Press "No thanks" to opt out and prevent seeing this prompt again.
Press "Ask next time" to close the prompt and see it again the next time you log in.
Press "Authenticate device" to initialize your device authentication.

If you complete the authentication on your device, a "Device authenticated" message is briefly displayed and you can now log in to Pectora from this device by pressing the "Passkey Log in" button (without having to enter your email address or password).
Use "Passkey Log in" from an authenticated device to avoid having to enter your email and password.
Manage Authenticated Devices
You can view the devices you've authenticated, authenticate a new device, or remove an existing device by visiting the Passkeys tab on your profile (https://app.pectora.com/user).
Authenticate a New Device
Go to your profile (https://app.pectora.com/user) and press the Passkeys tab.
Press the fingerprint button next to "Authenticate this device" and complete the authentication using the native authentication screen your device opens (Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello). If you complete the authentication on your device, a "Device authenticated" message is briefly displayed and you can now log in to Pectora from this device by pressing the "Passkey Log in" button (without having to enter your email address or password).
Remove an Authenticated Device
From your profile (https://app.pectora.com/user), press the Passkeys tab. You can view all the devices you've previously authenticated under the "Authenticated Devices" section. To remove a device from the list (disable logging in without a password from the device), press the "Delete" button next to the device you want to remove.
