NOTE: this guide assumes you've created a course and you have the admin team member role.
Pectora uses video.js, a widely used HTML5 video player to provide a broad range of support for devices and video formats. All videos require an mp4 version of the video to be uploaded, including a webm version is supported if you'd like to accommodate the broadest range of devices. The maximum file size for video uploads depends on your user role but is clearly displayed beneath the file picker on the "+ Add Materials" form.
To add videos to a course, press the "Accounts" link in Pectora's navigation menu, (if you have more than one account, click the account with the course you are adding videos to). From your Account page, press the "Courses" tab and then press the "+ Add Materials" button (above the table) or link (in the table).
Select "Videos" as the type of item to add.
Press the "Choose Files" button to open the native file picker on your device, select the files to upload, and press the "Continue" button.
NOTE: only .mp4, .webm, and .png files are supported. Each upload requires at least the .mp4 file.
PRO TIP: set custom thumbnails for your videos by uploading corresponding png files with the videos (the png files are the images to use as the thumbnail). Corresponding files must share a common name, for example: "training.mp4" and "training.png" or "video1.mp4" and "video1.png".
After uploading your video files, set the title, language and add tags. If you have more than one course, you can use the "Add to" field to add your videos to multiple courses. The title of your videos should be concise and must be 120 characters or less. Add tags to provide more terms the video can be discovered from when end users search. In general, tags should be short, common terms that end users would likely use when searching. You can add an unlimited number of tags, but each tag must be 36 characters or less. Tags may contain spaces, punctuation and alphanumeric characters.
You can select "Team Member" or "Team Admin" in the "Access" field to limit which users can access the video.
